Note from George Eykyn,
As well as the police message below about a burglary in Welders Lane, I’m afraid I need to report that two homes in upper Chiltern Hill experienced break-ins to their garden sheds during the last week. In both cases the door hinges were unscrewed. Some items were taken from one of the sheds, which adjoins the field at the back of Chiltern Hill and Ellis Avenue. The neighbourhood police team has been here today. They believe the break-ins probably occurred on Tuesday evening or overnight Tues-Weds last week.
The officer here today recommended that people use irreversible screws to mount hinges and locks on their sheds. She also urged residents to keep garage doors securely shut. Anyone with information that might help the investigation into the break-ins is asked to call the non-emergency number, 101, quoting case number GA4145553/12.
