Halloween Message from Thames Valley Police

Message sent by, Jen Shraga (Police, Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), )

Worried by Halloween?  If you do not wish to be called upon “No trick or treat posters” can be downloaded from www.thamesvalley.police.uk. Remember this Halloween don’t open your door if you’re unsure who is there. Use your spy-hole, look out of a window or use your door chain.

Looking forward to Halloween?  Police on the Chiltern and South Bucks LPA want everyone to have a happy and safe time and ask parents to remind their children that some people can be scared when people knock on their door after dark; TVP ask parents to remind their children to be considerate and to respect the ‘No trick or treat’ door signs.

What are the local police doing? Operation Ghostbuster has started, a local police operation aimed preventing incidents of Anti Social Behaviour from happening, rather than dealing with the aftermath.   A large number of officers are working each evening from now until Bonfire Night, and will be out and about at locations where they feel there is the potential for trouble or are vulnerable to trouble.

For crime in progress : dial 999.  For non-emergencies call the police non-emergency number : dial 101

Residents may wish to report any low levels acts of Anti Social behaviour or incidents where they see or hear groups gathering and feel there could be problems. If the police are notified early we respond more quickly and can deal with these groups before issues escalated.

Remember the 999 number should only be used for emergencies.
