Winkers Farm application – CHRC Chairman writes

WINKERS FARM PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

Kebble Homes have recently submitted a planning application to Chiltern District Council for development of the Winkers Farm site as housing, proposing a total of four houses. Their previous application (narrowly rejected by CDC) was for five homes. The new application can be viewed on the Council’s website at https://isa.chiltern.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=N5B4I0ES0GC00

This is a ‘brownfield’ site within the Green Belt which has an established use as a night club, and is close to the eastern boundary of Chalfonts Heights Estate. The Estate has the benefit of covenants over the site.

The developer has asked whether CHRC would write a letter of support to the Council.

The Committee has been told that that refusal of the planning application for housing would probably result in intensification of the existing nightclub use, as there may be an attempt to secure its financial viability. This in turn could lead to an increased level of disturbance to some residents on the estate.

The Committee would welcome residents’ views. Please email any comments you may have to Jonathan Pegler ([email protected]) by Thursday 12th June.

Residents may also wish to send their own formal response on the application direct to Chiltern District Council.
