Over the coming months, a BT contractor, KN Cirnet, will be installing fibre-optic cables around Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross.
With the permission of the Roads Committee, the contractor is currently inspecting BT chambers and duct routes in our estate roads and verges to check that the new fibre-optic cables can be pulled through the existing ducts. Where ducts are obstructed or collapsed, a shallow excavation in the verge may be needed to free up the blockage in the duct.
The contractor expects work on the estate to take 4 to 6 weeks.
We understand that fibre-to-the-home connections from the BT network will follow later in the year once the GX-CSP network is substantially complete.
