Fibre-optic cable: contractors working in Chalfont Heights

Over the coming months, a BT contractor, KN Cirnet, will be installing fibre-optic cables around Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross. 

With the permission of the Roads Committee, the contractor is currently inspecting BT chambers and duct routes in our estate roads and verges to check that the new fibre-optic cables can be pulled through the existing ducts. Where ducts are obstructed or collapsed, a shallow excavation in the verge may be needed to free up the blockage in the duct.

Waste collections update

The council has updated its advice on waste collections. As of this week, 30th March, recycling collections (blue bin) are resumed. However the council has suspended food waste collections. You are asked to put this in the black bin, and/or to compost where you can.

Supporting The Self-Isolating

Following the CHRC appeal for Volunteers to come forward to assist those residents who are self-isolating, CHRC are delighted to report that over 50 residents came forward with offers of help. Thank you to everyone who is assisting, it will really help those who cannot get out at this time and relieve some of the pressure and stress.

Supporting neighbours affected by Coronavirus

This message is sent on behalf of
Chalfont Heights Roads Committee Ltd and the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in the
estate.

As official guidance on Coronavirus
imposes tighter restrictions, and more people in our community are required to
remain in their homes, we have been considering how to help those in the estate
who may be vulnerable and need assistance in obtaining basic groceries or
medicines.
