Storm Damage and Street Lighting

Posted on: October 30th, 2013 by Alan Lane

During the recent storm the Estate fortunately lost only two trees – one on Ellis Avenue and one on Chiltern Hill at the junction with Lewis Lane.  Jasper Garnham had identified the damage on Monday morning and organised for Fineland Forestry to deal with the immediate problems on Monday afternoon.

Fineland will complete the removal of trunks when their workload returns to normal.  Meanwhile if anyone becomes aware of damaged trees belonging to the Estate, please let us know.

As a separate point, the Chalfont St Peter Parish Council maintains the streetlights on the Estate.  If you notice that a streetlight is not working, please note the number of the light (usually three digits painted vertically about 6 feet above ground) and let the Parish Council Office know on 01753 891582.

CSP Annual Parish Meeting: Chance to make a difference and be better informed

All residents of Chalfont St Peter are invited to attend the Annual Parish Council Meeting on Wednesday May 15, to be held at 7.30 in the Parish Council offices. This is an ideal opportunity to meet your parish council representatives, to hear the work they have been doing tirelessly on your behalf over the last year, to ask questions and to make comments on village issues that concern you. There will also be an opportunity for brief feedback on –
·         the Holy Convent judicial review update and way forward
·         the new waste collection system soon to be introduced by BCC
·         our soon-to-initiated Woodlands and Commons Management plan

Over coffee or a glass of wine, villagers will also be able to chat informally to representatives from the District council, the County Council, our own Parish Council and our local community police officers.

Please submit any specific questions you may have that you would like the parish council to consider to the Clerk on [email protected], or by telephone on 01753 891582 (please submit questions at least 48 hours before the meeting).

Please come along to hear what is going on in your village and to make your voice heard.
We look forward to seeing you there!

CSP Parish Council Clerk

Our Parish Council is producing a Chalfont St Peter Neighbourhood Plan for the village. It is part of a new approach to planning brought about by the government through the Localism Act. This is a real opportunity for you to have a say about the future of your village!

We are holding a drop-in event for two days over the 10th and 11th May. This event will be the first of two major opportunities for the residents of Chalfont St Peter to input their ideas to the plan. This workshop will be a key step in the process of setting the topics and issues that the plan could cover. At the drop-in event you will be able to:

  • Find out more about Neighbourhood Planning and what it means for Chalfont St Peter
  • Tell us what you think of the topics the plan could cover and if we have missed any of the key issues that will face Chalfont St Peter in the future
  • Tell us what you like and dislike about Chalfont St Peter on ‘the good, the bad and the ugly map’
  • Have a chat with members of the team producing the plan
  • Make notes in a general comments book
