IMPORTANT NOTICE – RESURFACING WORKS

Posted on: July 4th, 2016 by Alan Lane

Our contractors will be conducting resurfacing works to several roads in the estate in early to mid July. These proposed works are weather dependent, and require preparatory work to be carried out beforehand.

Please note any dates below which may apply to you. If you have neighbours who are unlikely to receive notice by email please could you tell them or otherwise draw it to our attention?

PROPOSED SCHEDULE:

  • WEDNESDAY 13TH JULY – Winkers Close, preparatory work
  • THURSDAY 14TH JULY – Lewis Lane & Sandy Rise, preparatory work
  • FRIDAY 15TH JULY – Half Acre Hill, some preparatory work; install gully and soakaway
  • MONDAY 18TH JULY – Half Acre Hill, remaining preparatory work.
  • MONDAY 18TH JULY – Lower Chiltern Hill, preparatory work
  • TUESDAY 19TH JULY – Lower Chiltern Hill and Half Acre Hill, resurfacing
  • WEDNESDAY 20TH JULY – Lewis Lane and Sandy Rise spur, resurfacing
  • THURSDAY 21ST JULY – Winkers Close, resurfacing
  • FRIDAY 22ND JULY – Lincoln Road hump and tidy up

On the days of preparation and surfacing, residents will have only limited access to their properties: you are kindly asked to consider alternative parking arrangements on those days.

Residents of Half Acre Hill will have very limited access, probably pedestrian only, on Fri 15 when the gully and drainage is installed. A location needs to be identified for Half Acre Hill’s bins on Fri 15 July.

Could you please let us know via [email protected] if there any ongoing building works around the estate that might be affected by the planned road resurfacing works?

Weather conditions are likely to affect the surfacing days more than the preparation days.

Chiltern Hill – Update

Posted on: January 6th, 2014 by Tickencote

Temporary closure of Chiltern Hill below the Island

Thames Water’s contractor arrived on Monday, 6th January to carry out remedial work on the sewer below the island on Chiltern Hill. Chiltern Hill will be closed at some point either this or next week and we will update the website and email residents once we have further information on the works from Thames Water.

Road subsidence in Lewis Lane

An area of subsidence has developed in the road surface outside Overcombe in Lewis Lane, it is on the driving line but can, with care, be avoided. Thames Water re investigated the road surface and intend to come back within the next 12 to 15 days, they have advised that us that the sewer drain is structurally fit.

If there is further subsidence before remedial work can be carried out, we may have to consider closing Lewis Lane above Bochym.  In the meantime, please be very careful.
